Radon gas is an invisible radioactive gas with no odor or taste. It is created from the breakdown of uranium inside of rocks, soil and water over time, and makes it's way up to the surface through cracks and openings in the ground.

Outdoors, radon dilutes quickly and poses little to no threat in small quantities. But if radon begins to build up in an enclosed space such as a building, it can compound into dangerous radiation levels that are harmful for humans to inhale.
